New Hugo Site

I finally made the jump over to Hugo for this site. For a long time, I’ve been using my own scripts to edit HTML files, but it was getting unwieldy as the site got bigger. Hugo should help me keep things organized a little better. Everything looks pretty much the same with the exception of a couple of quality-of-life tweaks.

Two things I already like about it:

  1. I know HTML pretty well, and I can write in HTML pretty fast with my vim setup. But it’s hard to compete with the speed of writing in Markdown.
  2. Hugo has tagging. That should help make the site easier to navigate, especially since I’m dealing with a pretty broad range of topics. From what I can tell, it actually looks like I have at least two different audiences: one for techy stuff and one for my other writing. This should make it easier for everyone to find exactly what they’re looking for.
